A Journey, Not yet Taken
There she sat
Looking at her new passport
with eager anticipation
Of places she always wanted to see
Now, it was more real
Baby steps in the right direction
that would lead her
To paths she had longed to travel
It doesn’t matter how long it takes
She now knew
Where she was born
Was where she no longer wanted to be
Dreams would soon be realized
If she did not grow weary
Or doubt the possibility
That maybe. . . . .the world needed to see her too
Amen
